Kevin Lustik is a needlepoint rebel who breaks the traditional rules of stitchery, tearing and burning fabric and sometimes leaving works unfinished or with yarn unspooling from the frame. He incorporates into his canvases beads, needles, found objects, and wit.
Lustik has exhibited his original works around New York City at such esteemed venues as The Leslie-Lohman Project Space, Port Authority, ChaShaMa, and The Garment District Alliance. He has been featured on CBS News, and in the publications W42ST and Velvet Park.
