Susan McCullough was born in Sterling, Colorado and moved to the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado as a teen.
Her fascination with drawing as a child soon turned into an interest in painting with oils. She paints oil landscapes, preferably from life, hoping to convey the excitement of the scene onto the canvas. . Looking for a painting spot that catches her eye helps to fine tune her sense of composition in a scene, evaluating on spot the attributes that contribute to a good painting; values, patterns, shapes and color.
Susan has been juried into many national exhibitions and belongs to the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, Plein Air Artists Colorado, Oil Painters of America, and The American Impressionist Society. Susan has studied with Kevin MacPherson, Matt Smith and Ralph Oberg.
